    Verdict

    Spark Plug, five times a winner on Turf, was racing on the all-weather for only the second time when landing a Kempton Listed contest early in December where he gave 5lb to the smart Verdana Blue. That was over 1m4f, the furthest he's ever travelled, so he steps into the unknown here. Grey Britain has a similar profile in that he also won over the same trip last time and has never been this far. Lord George, beaten a head in the All-Weather Stayers' Championship here last March, found 1m4f too short last time and Ryan Moore returns to ride but he was beaten 2l behind Watersmeet over this trip at Kempton on November. To complicate matters the latter finished 4l behind STARGAZER at Newcastle in December and if Philip Kirby's charge takes to this surface he can see off these rivals in a tight contest.
