In depth

Verdict

Hailstone wears a visor for the first time and probably found an extended mile just too far at Cork. He won a claimer over this trip at Dundalk before a much better effort in a very strong Naas handicap. Dylan Hogan's claim should see him in the firing-line but the weight concession to LOOSE CHIPPINGS may prove beyond him. Johnny Murtagh's colt was having just his fourth start and making his handicap debut when attempting to make all at Leopardstown and was only headed in the closing stages. He had Lady Rosebud, twice a winner at Dundalk behind, and though she was battling on at the finish she may not get there again. Little Clarinet won a Navan maiden in September and looks the type to do well in her second campaign.
