Jacks Island is better known as a stayer but both victories over timber have been gained at two miles. He's 7lb higher than for his victory at Clonmel last month but his young rider is very good value for his claim. Dactik caught the eye with a big run behind Burnswood at Naas but he's now 0-23 in all career starts and is on a high enough mark. Tom Treacy rode a superb race from the front on ODONIMEE at Gowran and an 8lb rise may not be enough to prevent Lar Butler's mare going in again, especially as it was the ultra-consistent Fool's Wildcat, who won yesterday, back in second spot. Ephorus is still a maiden and could do with some respite from the handicapper but the veteran Orange Touch showed signs of a return to form at Cork earlier this month and isn't badly treated.
