In depth

Verdict

Dun Masc ran a nice race on his fencing debut at Punchestown and will strip fitter here. He has to go on the short-list but the jury is out on useful hurdler Fists Of Fury, who ran in snatches when favourite at Galway last month and never looked likely to reward backers. Shane Rock has been placed in three out of four starts over fences but probably needs to progress again to land this and a better long-term prospect may be The Engineer. Placed three times in bumpers, Jessica Harrington has opted to send her five-year-old straight over fences so he's presumably had plenty of schooling. Lend A Hand Son is no forlorn hope but we'll take a chance on the fitness of GIFT OF DGAB, who was thought good enough to contest a couple of Grade 2 events over hurdles last season and won over the smaller obstacles at Navan in February. He's a half-brother to staying chaser Creative Time and could go on to better things than this.
