Verdict

The Big Lense was heavily supported for a Bellewstown maiden at the end of August and stayed on strongly over that 2m4f. He'll stay the extra but makes his handicap debut in what looks a competitive event. However, conceding 19lb to OFFSHORE OSCAR won't be easy as he also made a successful handicap debut at Killarney where he was always in the front rank and stayed on powerfully. The Gatechecker reverted to fences on a much higher mark than hurdles and had no problems seeing off today's rival Georges Conn so is expected to go well back over timber while Platinum Empress is getting closer to losing her maiden tag and regular pilot Rachael Blackmore is again on board.
