In depth

Verdict

SNOWY OWL failed to quicken when third at Navan but previous runs on good suggest he'll be suited by trip and ground here. His best run came at this distance and he's feasibly treated after being dropped 1lb by the assessor. The strike rate of Chateau Musar makes for pleasing reading but all four wins have come on the all-weather and he's yet to place on the grass, so is best watched. Keep an eye on the selection's stablemate, Moon Daisy, in first-time cheekpieces off a workable mark and Blue Shadow is respected off topweight. The Virginian ran a strong second over timber this month and must be monitored in the market.
