In depth

Verdict

Rightville Boy had been in fine form before a poor run at Gowran where a couple of errors put paid to his chances. Suffren was having his first start for almost three years when showing up nicely over a trip too short at Navan last month. He should be in the firing-line and though Sacre Malta has been a bit inconsistent he ran a cracking race here in December and is just 1lb higher. Special Token ran well at Cork last time but has a very poor strike-rate while Theoystercatcher has yet to win a race but has come close on several occasions, including at Downpatrick last time where she stayed on strongly over a slightly shorter trip than this. COUNT SALAZAR has been very consistent over fences and was having his first start since October when running well over this course and distance last month. He's on a 26lb lower mark over hurdles and won't mind the conditions so looks the one to be on.
