The front-running Eagle Canyon is proving very difficult to place and was soon done with when passed at the furlong pole at Fairyhouse on Sunday. Dodging Bullets, who finished a length in front of him and will appreciate reverting to a mile, should have no real problems confirming the form. Mullingar started a short-priced favourite for a maiden at Naas but couldn't quicken after travelling nicely and was beaten almost five lengths behind Baitsileir. Jim Bolger saddled that winner and is represented here by the newcomer TOBAR NA GAOISE, whose dam was a very speedy performer. He won't need to be a world-beater to land the spoils against mainly disappointing rivals.
