Verdict

King Johns Castle is hardly the most consistent of performers and the form of his recent victory at Kilfeacle was devalued when the runner-up disappointed at Clonmel subsequently. Stablemate ON THE FRINGE could prove the better option as he looked a future star of this game when beating Kilty Storm and today's rival Good Egg at Punchestown in April. Rudi Trucker returned from a long break to gain yet another victory between the flags at Nenagh three weeks ago ago while the youngster Whatnow Whatnext is progressing well and landed a maiden hunters' event in good style at Limerick.
