Atlas is a three-times course winner and from much higher marks so shouldn't be dismissed while Shawaamekh, having his first start for Jonny Levins at Cork last month, came with a late run to beat a huge field and should make a bold bid to defy a 6lb rise. Course and distance winner MIDNIGHT FIRE also beat a big field over 6f at the Curragh before staying on well in a premier handicap on a return visit. He's still looking reasonably treated and can get back on the winning trail though there are plenty of dangers including Plunkett, who just failed to hang on in a mile handicap at the Curragh. Earls does best on testing ground so further rain would enhance his claims.
