Auckland had been disappointing until landing a mile maiden here so that could be a signal of better to come. But VENEER OF CHARM stepped up to this trip at Navan and was always travelling easily for a comfortable victory. That was on fast ground but there's no reason he won't be as effective on softer going so gets the vote to follow up. Hyperdrive is very much on the upgrade and only 4lb higher than his victory at Limerick so he should be thereabouts while the lightly-raced Simafar made a fine debut for Robbie McNamara at Cork and will have come on a bundle for the run.
