David O'Meara sends CUSTOM CUT from Yorkshire and on his last visit here he won the Group 2 Boomerang Stakes for which he's penalised. He should be good enough to take this prize home. Cougar Mountain scored at this level on fast ground over the course and distance in August and his two later runs have been on much softer going. Brendan Brackan would prefer some cut and there was plenty of give when Sruthan won the Irish Lincoln. Alphonsus ran well behind Washington DC in a Listed contest at Dundalk and, with just four runs to his name, can make further progress as can stablemate In My Pocket, though he's taking a big step up in class. Queen Catrine is a fast-ground specialist so shouldn't be dismissed but Steip Amach looked suited by dropping back to 7f at the Curragh last time.
