The feature race on today's card and a decent field has been attracted, from whom we'll take GOOD OLD THYME to emerge victorious from Catch Bob and King Ozzy. The selection comfortably landed a novice hurdle over further here last time and has been given a rating of 118 on the back of that success, the geldings first run for new trainer Dr Richard Newland having been previously trained in Ireland. With the field well strung out that day the handicapper doesn't seem to have been too harsh and the way the horse travelled suggested this drop in trip might not pose a problem to the improving sort who can defy top weight to land this. Catch Bob rates a danger with Ferdy Murphy's horses running into form. This one was no match for the winner when second last time but that was a good looking race and a 1lb rise for defeat appears fair so with Graham Lee up this former point-to-point winner can take a hand in proceedings, particularly if conditions deteriorate. King Ozzy is another quite lightly raced five-year-old and although this one looked held when unseating last time that was over further and two miles here should be more to the geldings liking, as such Warren Marston's mount merits attention. Alan King's runners are always worthy of respect here and in Pagano he saddles a live contender, the gelding returned to his last winning mark having disappointed of late. King's other horse The Hairy Lemon goes well fresh and may outrun the odds afforded him whilst Sendali may need respite from the handicapper before returning to the winners' enclosure. In a competitive affair we'll side with the improving Good Old Thyme to oblige.
