In depth

Verdict

Ludere's last two career runs (from a high of 97, now 90) have come in December (but both times at Taunton in sellers), but his best form would not be on going this heavy. Compton Chick has yet to win a race but has some reasonable placed efforts to her name (including over course and distance on heavy from today's mark) and is fairly closely weighted with Fionulla's Rainbow on their recent Exeter runs. The last-named has been disappointing of late but has won from a mark of 108. That said, her latest efforts leave something to be desired. Premier Estate has had only three runs, the latest of which was a good third to Master Florian. He has chances off a mark of 86. Lancashire Lass has not really had too much racing overall and her best form is at around this trip. This race is not as straightforward as it first looked but Ludere, on a winning mark, gets the nod.
