This is an appalling race and Blackthorn, A Double Ewe Bee and Viscount Rossini seem the main players, with Blackthorn looking the best of a bad lot. The last time A Double Ewe Bee ran in selling class she won. Although that was only four outings ago it was two years ago and she has shown little since, certainly not on her last two starts when she was pulled up on each occasion. Viscount Rossini has steadily deteriorated on the Flat but has shown improved form over hurdles recently, albeit in selling company, chasing home the gambled on Ever Special last time, getting within four lengths at the line. A reproduction of that effort would see him go close here. Blackthorn won a similar race over this course and distance last year and does have some other reasonable efforts in similar grade to his credit. He was pulled up in better company last time and although this is his seasonal debut Blackthorn can take this.
