In depth

Verdict

Dundridge Native is the selection in this competitive race with Marshalls Run, Sovereigns Joy and Sabreflight the most obvious opposition. Backers of Jim Best's mare must have felt as if their pockets had been picked as she capsized at the last at Taunton with the prize at her mercy. The ground is a slight worry but she looks to be ahead of the handicapper and that class can tell here. Marshalls Run has to be respected as an inmate from the Alan King stable. A promising bumper performer, he didnt do a lot over hurdles but has been handicapped accordingly. Sovereign's Joy is lightly raced and won nicely last time out. A couple of the market leaders did depart early in that contest so a note of caution is sounded from a formbook perspective. Sabreflight has shown signs of ability although not this term. Carl Llewellyn's horses do seem to be performing well at present so she cannot be discounted at what are likely to be fair odds. Randolph O'Brien has put up a couple of below par runs and looks a thorough mudlark on all known evidence. Donald Will Do is a winning pointer over three miles so the market is given more than just a passing glance. Ice And Soda hasn't shown the same ability over chase fences as over hurdles. Ours has had a break after floundering badly in bottomless ground last time out. Dundridge Native looks the pick in a fair contest.
