In depth

Verdict

Just 5lb between the quintet tells its own story here in a tight contest where nothing can be confidently discounted. Call The Detective and KINGS APOLLO both recorded comfortable successes the last day but the latter has far more chasing experience which he can put to good use here, especially with Ben Poste also claiming a useful 3lb. The combination looked to have something in hand when scoring at Taunton last time and can defy a 6lb rise for that victory. Ballyrath and Buckhorn Tom are both solid sorts and it's the former, open to improvement over fences, who could emerge as the prime threat here. Things didn't go right for Eco Warrior on his chase debut but it's far too soon to be writing off the Venetia Williams charge as he's very lightly-raced under Rules.
