        Verdict

        Straits Of Malacca went close on his comeback at Catterick but a further rise in the weights puts him on an 11lb higher mark than when scoring at Hamilton last year. By contrast, CANYARI has slipped steadily down the handicap and a recent fourth at Ripon suggests he is capable of scoring off his current mark. Ryan Moore's presence further boosts confidence while Nocturn will welcome the drop in class and Ayr winner Gold Beau will appreciate the return to Turf having run well at Kempton last month.
