It is time to get out the lucky pin, or the crystal ball for this contest. It is such an open affair we have to make Cionn Mhalanna a tentative selection, with Ah Yeah and Sissinghurst Storm just two of many dangers. Peter Beaumont's top-weight was quite impressive when winning at Hexham in November. He galloped his rivals into the ground coming home 20 lengths clear of Arctic Lagoon. If he is fit following his two month break he should go close in this weak event. Ah Yeah finished second to Mulkev Prince over a much shorter trip last time, but has no problem staying this sort of distance and should be involved in the finish. Sissinghurst Storm has not shown his true form this season, but if he could return to somewhere near his best he would be there or thereabouts with just 10st 7lbs in the plate. You can add to the mix Sir Cumference and Black Smoke, but Cionn Mhalanna has a good a chance as any and gets the vote
