In depth

Verdict

An absolute minefield for punters to tread carefully through as a few of these have been expensive horses to follow. However, a chance is taken with Kingscross, who starts this season back on a fair mark and will have benefited greatly from his recent blow out at Folkestone. There are dangers aplenty though and the likes of Hurricane Coast, Full Spate and Whippersnapper are all respected as lively alternatives - while Hollow Joe is surely better than he showed last time and is one to watch in running today. So too is Romany Nights, who has not had the best of luck on few occasions and appeals as the type to go in at a big price somewhere along the line. It also has to be considered significant that Richard Hughes has been sought out for the ride aboard Tidy and the partnership could easily get involved despite being burdened by top weight. However, Kingscross is back on a winning mark after a few near misses last season and is fancied to exploit the handicapper¿s leniency today ¿ but only just!
