    Verdict

A poor turnout for a valuable prize and Aversham looks set to benefit from the drop in class. He has been tackling much better company than this in France and he should have little more than a piece of work in landing this. Morvern, a half-brother to eight winners including juvenile winner Scottiish Law, showed next to nothing on his debut, while newcomer Captain Darling, who is bred to do better over middle-distances, will need to be above average to make a winning debut.
