TRAPHALGAR is taken to get the better of Buddhist Monk and Fleur de Lion in this claiming stakes. The selection was good enough to win a handicap at Beverley in June and has since been knocking on the door in similar races to this. He was not beaten far behind Buddhist Monk over course and distance last time out giving him two pounds in the process but this time is in receivership of eight pounds of his rival so if recapturing his form he ought to reverse the placings. Fleur de Lion was in winning form at Brighton in a seller on his penultimate outing but was out classed when stepped up in grade last time out. He will be more at home back in this grade so any market moves should be noted. Traphalgar has conditions in his favour and is difficult to oppose.
