In depth

Verdict

Gulland Rock beat Red Unico by more than three lengths at Wolverhampton in July and won easily at Kempton 12 days ago. He can race off a lower mark back on Turf so has to go on the short-list, though has never won beyond 5f on this surface and not since early 2014. POOR DUKE's recent win at Chepstow came on good to soft but he'd earlier gone close at the same track on a much quicker surface so shouldn't be far away here. Intimately won at Yarmouth before finishing third at Salisbury and also has decent claims but The Dancing Lord remains woefully out of sorts.
