Daneside's win in better company at Sandown 10 days ago was a big step up on earlier efforts and it will be interesting to see if he can repeat the effort here off a 6lb higher mark. Ferruccio has finished second in five of his last six starts and seems sure to be thereabouts again but he does lack an extra gear and may find at least one too good again. RUSSIAN AFFAIR couldn't quicken when favourite over 7f at Warwick last time but this more searching test will suit and Roger Varian's maiden is given another to chance to get off the mark in what looks the weaker of the two divisions of this handicap. Cootehill Lass is trying a new trip but Ra Junior is starting to edge towards a decent mark and could sneak into a place.
