    Verdict

Luca Cumani's runners are usually better for a pipe-opener but SEMEEN bucked the trend when scoring at Newbury on his comeback. A 9lb rise seems rather harsh but he gets the vote to show further improvement stepping up in trip. Ashdown Lad is up only 2lb for his recent course and distance win and should be thereabouts again along with Running Deer, third at Windsor last time and racing off the same mark today. No excuses have been forthcoming for Estemaala's woeful return at Doncaster where she was sent off favourite, but she made a winning racecourse debut at Pontefract last season and it's too soon to write her off.
