Piri Piri has been dropped two pounds following an unlucky-in-running Kempton run and might represent a bit of value against a number of dangers at the top end of the handicap. The daughter of Piccolo has so far raced only four times so should have more to come. Obvious candidates against her are Vindication, raised five pounds for a Lingfield success, Cross Ash, who won a Catterick maiden in very good style, Gems Bond, for whom the handicapper is starting to relent and the drop in trip should suit, the dual juvenile winner Tuscan Sky, who is also starting to drop in the ratings, cosy Newbury winner Jacaranda (who runs here under a five-pound penalty), and Riska King, who keeps threatening to win a race like this, is dropping in the weights and Kevin Darley might just be able to get the right tune from him.
