Nonrunner

In depth

Verdict

A wide open contest rounds off the card and many would have a chance on their best form, but the principals look to be Instructor, Naxox and Spear Thistle, and the narrow vote is given to Instructor. The selection was a fair third behind Buster Hyvonen on his debut and is sure to have learnt from the experience. Naxox rates the main danger on his best form in France although his stable's runners have tended to need their first run this season. Spear Thistle could go well on his latest fifth behind Topkat and is sure to appreciate this faster surface. Namroud won at up to 9 furlongs on the flat but looks the stable's second string on jockey bookings. Of the remainder, Wotchalike looks vulnerable under his penalty while Hillcrest is clearly thought capable of better and is another to note in the market. Instructor's form looks rock solid in the context of this race and he secures the selection.
