Al Mureib failed to land the odds at Wolverhampton on his latest start and hasn’t really built on a promising second at Newmarket in July. The Godolphin colt has questions to answer now and there are a couple of nicely-bred newcomers in opposition today. Desert Friend was a relatively cheap yearling but is a half-brother to three winners, though BRASCA is more interesting. Brother to useful middle-distance performer Highgarden, who made a winning debut over this trip, Ralph Beckett’s colt cost 60,000gns and is likely to know what’s required.
