Verdict
CALORMEN caught the eye on debut and can confirm superiority over Molly Mylenis, with Sky Diamond and The Best Mode others to consider it what doesn't look a particularly strong contest. Mick Channon's colt showed signs of inexperience when running on for second at Folkestone, shaping as though he'd learn plenty from the experience. That highly promising run also confirmed he's got no problem acting with cut in the ground and with Fallon taking the ride again he's going to take some beating for a yard that took this last year. Molly Mylenis was behind our pick on debut and is unlikely to reverse that form as she ran on the best ground that day and had no excuse. She should come on for it too but victory may be beyond David Evans' filly. He saddles a couple of interesting alternatives in The Best Mode, for whom Jamie Spencer is an interesting booking, and newcomer Zarazar who is bred to be speedy. The market will help seperate them but at this stage the experience of Molly Mylenis is compelling enough to put her up as the danger to our pick. Sky Diamond ran a promising race in the Brocklesby and will find this easier and Unknown Rebel should leave his debut effort well behind, but Calormen looked a winner-in-waiting last time and can oblige.
