Verdict

Face To Face wasn’t disgraced on his debut under Rules in an Ascot bumper but that was 15 months ago. Desert Retreat has been a disappointment so far and it will be a surprise if he’s good enough to get the better of GENEROUS HELPINGS (NAP), despite receiving 7lb. Gary Moore’s charge bolted up in a handicap at Huntingdon when last seen and is now rated 110. None of today’s rivals have produced form equivalent to that so far, though winning pointer Between The Waters may do better now tackling hurdles.
