      Verdict

      TALAMANCA offered very little in maidens but was to produce a fair effort at Lingfield on his first run in a handicap following the combination of a gelding operation and a couple of months off the track. Sweet Fortune is Karl Burke’s only runner at the meeting and must be respected accordingly while Gumais is steadily improving. Man Made Of Smoke was only fourth when dropped into a claimer at Redcar though the second has gone on to pick up a similar prize at Ripon in convincing fashion.
