    Verdict

This usually falls to a major yard and the trend should be sustained with many nicely-bred sorts from top stables on show. Those with a run may be vulnerable and Sir Michael Stoute, who has landed the event twice in the past decade, can improve his tally further with Dansili newcomer COUNSEL. The 200,000gns purchase will stay further in time but jockey bookings say he's the yard's first string and positive market signals would boost confidence. Godolphin are triple-handed and Ibtahaj, another 200,000gns buy, looks best on paper although support for Mr Churchill or Oscan would be significant. Aleksandar and Fisher look interesting sorts, while Swing Alone and Almuftarris look best of those with racecourse experience.
