Joly Maker won his first race at Southwell in October but failed to follow up off the same mark over hurdles and was then only fourth at Uttoxeter. Wenceslaus has had only two runs over fences, winning at Southwell in October. He probably came up against a well-handicapped rivals last time over timber and has every chance but it’s about time LAND LEAGUE was getting his head in front over the larger obstacles. He’s finished second three times and was placed again at Huntingdon last month, though it’s a surprise to see Stuart Edmunds leave the blinkers in place. Mr Dorrell Sage was badly hampered at Taunton and should be capable of better.
