Verdict

All of Sofias Number One's victories have been on the all-weather and there remains a big doubt about his ability to act on Turf. Thirsk third Exceedexpectations is also much better on an artificial surface while the likes of Greensward, Diamondhead and Oratory are all out of form. Fred Willetts disappointed when favourite for a ladies' race at Lingfield last time having earlier chased home Dashwood at Chepstow. He was also well behind CREEK FALCON at Doncaster in April and David O'Meara's charge looks the one to be on here dropped in grade again after a subsequent run at Ascot.
