A chance is taken on SEA LAVENDER in the hope that handicapping sees her in a better light; Dream On Connie and General Tufto complete the short-list. Roger Charlton has acquired the services of an up and coming apprentice for his Diktat filly who failed to trouble the judge during three runs in maiden company that were well spaced out. She's from a good family and did show a little more last time so may be worth chancing on her handicap bow. Dream On Connie is only marginally more experienced and did attract support on his handicap debut. He failed to run much of a race there but his most recent run doesn't read too badly in the context of this race. Active Asset has been a regular winner but ran no race on his return whilst Bolanderi appears to be regressing. General Tufto, Bert's Memory and Kalasam are capable but have only won three turf starts between them in seventy six attempts which is hardly compelling. Therefore, we'll look to the unexposed runners and opt for Sea Lavender.
