Pastello sets the standard but it may be worth having an each-way interest on Danehill Intellect or chancing Henry Cecil's newcomer DANUBE. Pastello didn't show an awful lot on debut but she emerged with credit from her second outing at Brighton and has to be on the short-list with the yard's juveniles continuing to hit the target with regularity. Danehill Intellect could be backed at fancy prices ahead of her debut at Kempton but she shaped quite pleasingly there and will be suited by this longer trip if she can go on from that initial run. La Ville Lumiere is another potential improver whilst Quiet and Aalya are interesting newcomers from top yards but we'll look to another from that quarter in Danube. Henry Cecil won this race in 1999 and 2006 and has another interesting candidate in this half-sister to juvenile winner Doncosaque whose dam is related to some top class performers. Traditionally, this is a good time of year for the Cecil juveniles so we'll take Danube to make a winning start.
