Stars And Stripes was disappointing on his reappearance on this course but Quick Defence has been knocking on the door. Only beaten a neck at Lingfield on his return to action, he was then beaten a short-head at Windsor. Those races were over 1m2f, however, and it isn't certain he'll be suited by dropping back in trip. Nayel showed definite promise at Newmarket in October and should win races this term but a couple of newcomers could also go well. Miro has an excellent pedigree, though may need a bit further than this and preference is for MUSTAQQIL. A son of Invincible Spirit, his dam won over 7f so this trip should be within his range.
