A modest affair in which several have decent claims. It would be no surprise to see Peak Storm and The Dukkerer in the firing-line. Sam Spade is well treated on past form but Maltease Ah is only a plater while Kakapuka is best on the all-weather. The booking of Paul Hanagan for NO REFUND catches the eye with the four-year-old only 3lb higher than when scoring over course and distance in the autumn. He gets the nod, though New Rich won't be far away if staying the extra furlong.
