PRAYING MANTIS (NAP) won a selling handicap at Thirsk and quickly recouped her purchase price when landing a Gowran handicap last month so will be very difficult to beat in this company providing she handles the sand. Helen De Pourtales has only won at Dundalk and has been inconsistent on Turf this summer but Lion Ring, still a maiden after 20 starts, has been running well in handicaps and looks the most likely to take advantage if the selection doesn't handle the track. Guessthebill was beaten in three similar races in mid-summer.
