In depth

Verdict

Winning point-to-pointer and hurdler Alf Wright loves heavy ground as he showed on his debut over regulation fences at Tramore where he battled to victory over 2m6f. He jumped very well that day and takes some catching but comes up against potentially useful recruits here, especially GO ALL THE WAY. Jim Dreaper's winning hurdler could hardly have been more impressive when landing a beginners' event over the C&D in July and with plenty more to come he looks an exciting prospect. Murchu unseated his rider on his chasing debut but made no mistake on his next start at Galway where he produced a fine round of jumping. He can go on to better things but Fair Dilemma will need to improve and Ferris Bueller has mainly been disappointing though a change of stable may help.
