In depth

Verdict

Shane Foley prefers the newcomer Cosmic Lady, a half-sister to a winner in the UK, to the more-experienced Ballyvohane. Golden Temple had Eastmore and Ravshan behind when headed right on the line by the odds-on Rapparee Champ at Fairyhouse with the winner’s handler saddling Down Royal third The Great Kingdom in this. Voice Of Reason looked one to follow when close behind a couple of Ballydoyle inmates at the Curragh last August but he was a well-beaten favourite on his reappearance at Roscommon. Out of a dam that has produced winners with her first two foals to raced, ULTRA FINE didn’t make his debut until 17 days ago. He showed signs of inexperience but was far from disgraced and that will have taught him plenty.
