Verdict

Ballycaines started out by finishing last at Down Royal but showed the benefit of the experience at Dundalk where he still looked green. John Oxx has struck form and though Fridtjof Nansen has disappointed in two runs this season after a 4l fourth behind Saxon Warrior on his debut at the Curragh last August he won't get many better chances. TREMENDOUS LEAP hasn't been beaten far in any of his races including in a Listowel handicap last week where he just failed to concede Signing Off 22lb. Compensation awaits here though the two newcomers have to be noted. Dream Ascot, a 100,000gns daughter of Oasis Dream, is a half-sister to a winner in Australia while Maajmeh Dawn is out of a mare who has produced winners with her first two foals to run.
