In depth

Verdict

Most of these would be much happier with a set of obstacles to jump, especially PEREGRINE RUN who gained the 17th victory of his career in a Grade 3 chase here last week. His previous run was on the Flat at Limerick where he was placed over a trip too short so victory number 18 looks on the cards. Chosen Mate, another smart jumper, won the Grand Annual at Cheltenham in March while Polished Steel made an impressive start over fences at Tipperary earlier this month. Derek O'Connor's presence on winning bumper Pike County is a plus though he was also on board when his mount was well beaten at Navan.
