In depth

Verdict

THE VERY MAN (NAP) has taken to fences well and followed a solid chasing debut when third behind Exit Poll at Leopardstown with a cosy Cork success over Port Stanley. The latter confirmed the value of the form with a strong effort behind Asterion Forlonge at the Punchestown Festival so Denise Foster's seven-year-old is taken to make it two from three over fences. Cavalry Master, a winner last time and more experienced over the larger obstacles, should go well but may lack the class of the selection. Pilbara has been mixing fences and hurdles and is next best but has something to find on hurdles form.
