Verdict

An open-looking contest can go to Willie Mullins’ LITTLE NUGGET, who was probably a little unlucky not to follow up a maiden success at Limerick when relatively unfancied at Galway. Caer is also on an upward curve having bounced back from a fall at Galway when winning at Sligo. Karannelle beat a big field with ease at Cork and Payngo bolted up reverting to maiden company here last time, though is more exposed than most. Amor Verdadero and Gotthenod appear to have some improving to do.

Formwatch

Gotthenod (IRE) 25-1 (10-12) A little keen, prominent, pushed along from 3 out and lost position, soon weakened, 19th of 20, dist behind Bercasa (11-6) at Galway 2m hcp gd in Jul.

Little Nugget (IRE) 10-1 (10-13) Tracked leaders, ran freely, progress on outer to lead after 5th, travelled well after 2 out, joined last, ridden and headed narrowly run-in, kept on, no impression on winner close home, 2nd of 6, 1/2l behind Foveros (11-0) at Galway 2m 5f gd in Aug.

Karannelle (IRE) 7-2 (11-2) Chased leaders, tight for room after 3 out and switched left, soon closed travelling smoothly, on terms between last 2, soon led, pushed out to assert run-in, stayed on well, comfortably, won at Cork 2m mdn Yielding in Aug beating Lucky Phil (11-7) by 5l, 21 ran.

Amor Verdadero (IRE) 8-1 (10-12) Soon chased leaders and well off pace, closed and bumped with rival after 3 out, soon on terms, headed after 2 out, slight mistake last, one pace after, 3rd of 6, 3l behind Poker D'Ainay (11-6) at Tramore 2m 4f gd in Aug.
