This is usually competitive though favourites have a surprisingly good record. Plinth, a Grade 2 winner in October, will be more at home here rather than chasing the likes of Faugheen and Nichols Canyon and the ground should be perfect. Princely Conn has been in cracking form on good going but could have done with a 4lb rise for finishing second at Punchestown though he has subsequent winner Supreme Vinnie behind. Give Me A Break isn't well handicapped over hurdles compared to her chase rating while Do Try Dolly is 13lb higher than her victory in this a year ago though she's obviously improved. Conduct Yourself has won handicaps at Killarney and Tramore with a bit in hand and is still improving. John Kiely's mare has more to do with a 7lb rise to contend with but is likely to make a bold bid to complete a hat-trick. DANDRIDGE (NAP) is much better known as a chaser these days and has gone up 31lb in the ratings since August. He was last seen when runner-up in the Grade 3 Red Rum Handicap at Aintree in April and back over timber on such a lowly mark has to be the selection.
