We finish the card with a competitive handicap and hopefully JAKE THE SNAKE can send us home happy ahead of Arrivederla and Primaeval. Andy Carroll has got further improvement from the nine-year-old by changing his running style. For much of his career he made the running in races but is now being dropped in and really seems to be enjoying the change. He has won his last two races travelling beautifully in both and being produced to lead on the line. He now has a career high mark to overcome but may be capable of defying it. Arrivederla ran behind a very likable type of Mark Johnston's on his last start and Richard Hughes is an eye catching booking on the Harry Dunlop horse. He looks like he will do well this year as a four-year-old and if fit should go well here. Primaeval has a real progressive profile and could be well treated off a mark of 79 so if the money comes for the Fanshawe horse its sure to go well. Very quick ground would be a concern though. Caprio and Cape Knight should also be monitored.
