As is often the case in this type of event there is not a great deal for form students to go on with very little public form and, of those to have raced previously, the most solid claims are held by Kicasso, Lin d'Estruval and Natterjack but we take a chance on the ability of the newcomer Marching Premier. Noel Chance is more than capable of producing a horse to win first time up and, being by Zaffaran, the selection makes plenty of appeal on breeding. Simon Sherwood's Supreme Leader gelding All Things Equal, Emma Lavelle's Wichway Now, a son of Norwich, and Alan King's Kimono Royal, who is by Garde Royal, are other debutantes worth a look at in the ring beforehand. Among those with form, Lin d'Estruval and Natterjack, who finished fifth and sixth respectively over course and distance on their debuts have claims, while Henrietta Knight's Kicasso was favourite for a better race than this at Ascot but none make any great appeal and we take a chance with Marching Premier.
