In depth

Verdict

Nicky Henderson holds a strong hand in this with FRENCH CRUSADER and Elusive Belle, second and third behind stablemate Epatante at Newbury. The mare is better off at the weights today but the former has few miles on the clock and will probably hold his own at a higher level in the future. Golden Taipan has been on the go for a while but continues in good form while Chance A Tune came up against a couple of useful novices at Aintree and makes his handicap debut. Brandon Castle takes no prisoners and will enjoy himself around here but American Gigolo is best watched after a very long absence. Eddiemaurice is only a pound higher than when winning last year so is worth a market check.
