A big field and an open contest for this handicap chase where OR JAUNE is the selection ahead of Little Josh. The Gary Moore-trained pick loves it at this track, having won on both his starts over course and distance when in novices' company. He acts on both good ground and, particularly well, on softer going, and looks to be on a decent mark of 134. His Sandown run earlier in the month will have straightened him out after an eight-month break and he should be spot-on for this. Little Josh dispensed of a reasonable field at Kelso with some authority, and will probably try to make all here. One previous try over three miles saw him well behind Pride Of Dulcote in a hurdle last season, but this is an easier track and they will do well not to let him get too far ahead in spite of his having to prove his stamina. Pretty Star is consistent and wouldn't mind some rain. He stays well and will be keeping on at the end, though is it questionable whether he will have the necessary toe. Piraya will find this easier than the Racing Post Chase but will still need to improve to win it judged on his Newbury reappearance run, while Timmy Murphy's sole previous ride on board I'moncloudnine resulted in a win, and the soft-ground lover should be noted in the market as he would certainly have each-way claims. Soixante is tricky to win with but is rarely out of the frame, although there are stamina concerns over him, while Lodge Lane has a tough job shouldering top weight in such a competitive heat, but he is a decent sort who likes to get his toe in and is respected. Au Courant is better than he showed at Newbury and has a 50 per cent strike rate. Although he has not yet shown he gets three miles, his pedigree suggests that this should be his trip and he acts with cut, so could go close. Even so, Or Jaune has plenty going for him and gets the nod.
